Question from Wisdom Seeker: The human biology of scaring?
“Tissue damage triggers an inflammatory response by white cells to protect skin from infection by killing microbes. The same white cells guide the production of layers of collagen. These layers of collagen help the wound heal but they stand out from the surrounding skin and result in scarring.”

I’m not sure if I understand the the process of the body laying scar tissue. What exactly makes the scar stand out?
If Collagen fibers are not lay correctly, then how are the lay or woven different? What makes them “scar tissue”?

Hmm a nut shell of scaring is when you cut your Dermis (layer under epidermis) or your hyperdermis (layer underi dermis) deeply, when it heals it covers the scare, creating marks because the collagen and elsastin was destroyed.
