Burn Scar Removal Possibilities

The word scar comes from the Greek word “schara” which means place of fire. Scars are a frequent occurrence due to the fact that damaged tissues have only two options for action: regeneration and scarring. While this is an undeniable fact many still act surprised or upset when scarring occurrs.

There is a natural healing process by which the body deals with wounds minor, moderate and severe. And scarring is a natural part of this process. The more severe the injury…the more likely that scarring will be drastic.

Scar tissue can have inferior function in comparison to the original tissue it is replacing. This means that scarred tissues can have a decreased resistance to ultraviolet radiation, lack of sweat glands, lack of hair follicle growth, etc.

Effective burn scar removal can be life changing for those suffering from severe scarring. Once the procedure is completed they feel stronger, more confident, and have a better, more healthy self image.

Several things can be done when an individual experiences a burn that can reduce the scarring:

1. Immediately apply a mixture (cold water/tumeric) to the burn area. If tumeric isn’t available then substitute cold milk. The cold water is meant to decrease the burning sensation to provide relief. The tumeric (or cold milk) is meant to reduce generation of scar tissue.

2. No lotions or creams should be applied to the burn area until the burn is healed unless otherwise directed by a physician.

3. There is no homeopathic or home remedy for burn scar removal…the only effective method are laser based.

Laser burn scar removal is very effective. But it will never result in full removal of the scarring. Scars cannot be eliminated. Drastic reduction is the best option considering that scarring is a part of the natural healing process. But confidence levels and self image can truly benefit from the visible reduction of scarring that is available through laser burn scar removal.

Question from Max P: Burn scar?

Hi, I was a big idiot to think that toothpaste would remove pimples, now i see the cause of toothpaste upon pimples. I recently had a pimple so i put toothpaste on it, the next morning it turned into a slight burn, so i decided to remove the burn. I put aloe vera on the burn and the skin pealed off in about a day. The next morning I saw underneath the pealing skin is darker/brown/redish skin. It doesn’t seem to be removing, I have applied soap, neutrogena, nivea cream, spectro gel and mainly aloe vera on the infected area.

I was just wondering if there is anyway to remove the “scar”(hopefully it is not) without using surgical actions.

NOTE: The original pimple is removed, only the dark skin color is visible and clearly shows where the toothpaste has been applied

I do not believe that there is an infection, the pimple is GONE!, the skin seems to be very smooth on area where the pimple was, although, there is now a different skin color which may look like a scar.

You said recently, scars take a while to form and tooth paste doesn’t really burn like that. I expect that its your original pimple under there and its pretty pissed off. Let it go or use proper acne face wash. Give it a few weeks, it takes that long for derm problems to change.

let it go my tush. please please go to a doctor. the worst mistake you can make is to ignore this. you could be looking at an infection, or even staphilococus. this is a very serious condition that cna result in sickness and even death. ps this is no joke. a doctor cna check to make sure and provide antibiotics if neccesary. but please get checked before anything worse comes of it.

for future refference. there are many good over the counter medications for acne control. check with your doctor for a list they reccomend or the pharmacist.

also aloe vera is prim arilly a reliever. its used to soothe burns pain not to remove scarring its like aspirin (semi sorta) in that it can lessen pain form a burn. but it is not good for an infection. thats why you never put aloe vera on a fresh burn victim.

again please see a doctor as soon as possible to make sure your safe.
