Breast Augmentation and Scarring

Breast Augmentation and Scarring

Scars are inevitable after the skin is incised. You might sometimes see them referred to as "invisible" but that is because the incisions were made in a discreet or hidden area. Breast augmentation incision sites are always discussed beforehand and your cosmetic surgeon will have explained the advantages and disadvantages of each one.

Breast Augmentation Incision Locations

Breast augmentation incisions can be made beneath the breasts (in the crease), around the areola (the darker skin around the nipples) or in the armpits. Each location has its pros and cons and you and your cosmetic surgeon will chose the best one for your particular needs.

Beneath the breasts scars will only be visible to someone looking at your breasts from below Around the areolas the final scars, being faded, thin, and flat, will be camouflaged by the changes in skin color and texture at that border In the armpits scars will be away from the breasts and only visible if you are sleeveless and raise your arms

How a Scar Forms

A cut in the skin is rightly regarded by the body as a trauma that needs dealing with. Scar tissue is made of collagen, a protein found throughout the body. Collagen production is immediately increased at the site and typically, too much collagen is produced, but the body also creates collagenase, an enzyme that removes excess collagen.

For several months there is a back and forth process of collagen being increased, then reduced, then increased, until the body decides the cut is now healed. Whatever amount of collagen that ends up at the incision site is the scar. It may be relatively large or relatively small and this is an individual thing.

For perhaps a full year, the scar will slowly shrink as unneeded collagen is dissolved and ideally the final scar will be flat, faded, and thin. There should be no puckering or pain, just a thin line of collagen that feels harder than the surrounding skin. Scars have no hair follicles or sweat glands.

Hypertrophic and Keloid Scars

In a very few cases, the body produces an extra-large scar called a hypertrophic scar. It is raised and thick and usually red or darker than the surrounding skin. It can be uncomfortable but does not continue to expand. A keloid scar is similar but does enlarge and extends beyond the original incision.

Neither hypertrophic nor keloid scars are caused by the cosmetic surgeon; they are just the way your body scars. They can often be improved by a scar reduction surgery and testing is being done on how well laser treatment can reduce large scars.

Optimizing Your Breast Augmentation Outcome

The best cosmetic surgeons screen their potential patients very carefully, so as not to perform surgery on someone who is a poor candidate for it. If you are not a good candidate, you are thereby saved from a possible disaster; and if you are a good candidate, you can expect excellent results.

The other main factor in your positive outcome is following your cosmetic surgeon's recovery instructions to the letter. They are written for your benefit and you ignore them at your peril. If you were to somehow open up your incision before it had fully healed, you would expose yourself to infection. The wound would have to be re-sutured and this might lead to a larger scar. This is all good news for a prospective cosmetic surgery patient, because it places your good outcome to some extent in your own hands. If you have also chosen a properly qualified surgeon, you have placed yourself at the best possible starting point for excellent breast augmentation results.

beer/ale yeast. It has a lot of vitamin B, too. It will make you gain weight in a week. Either buy at pharmacies, as supplement, or in any place which specializes in brewing. Three pills a day/three tablespoons a day – depends on the product, and you are there. Good for bones and hair as well.

Let’s go step b step, ok?

You want to develop more muscle mass. First, you must make sure you are feeding your muscles the right way.

Your muscles feed themselves from protein. Foods high in protein are,

Egg Whites

There’s a reason why every successful bodybuilder in the world incorporates egg whites into their diet. With a protein to fat ratio of 60:1, egg whites are unquestionably one of the purest forms of protein in the world.

Chicken/Turkey

To pack on pounds of serious muscle, lean meats such as chicken and turkey breasts should be a staple in every bodybuilder’s diet. Aside from providing an excellent source of high quality protein, they are also extremely low in saturated and trans fats.

Fish

Although the recurring theme so far has been to eat foods that are low in fat, fish is one exception to this rule. Of course you want to stay away from saturated and trans fats, but your body still needs essential fatty acids such as omega-3 to help support the muscle-building process.

Beans & Legumes

If you are serious about building muscle, you can’t ignore the power of beans and legumes. When people typically think of bodybuilding foods, they immediately refer to various lean meats, but what they don’t realize is that the bean is a delicious and highly nutritious source of protein and fiber.

Then, you must work those muscles. When you do weight training, microscopical tears form in your muscles, and these are repaired with new muscle mass, so you must work out with weights to see results, otherwise you will be bulked up and look thick, not fit.

As for your scars. Most of them will get better in time, but if you are pressed for time and want to look better fast, try this home remedies.

Aloe Vera Juice or Gel is helpful in the fading of the scars.

different brands of this gel are available in the market and the effect of each one is different.

Rosehip seed oil is also another home remedy which reduces acne scars. This oil should be massaged twice on the acne scars daily.

Drink plenty of water, a hydrated skin shows less imperfections.

Eat fruits and vegetables, a diet high in fiber aids in flushing out toxins that end up showing in your skin.

Take a CLA/GLA supplement. This will cover your Omega fatty acid needs, and will aid in having a glowing skin.

Stay out of the sun!
