Easy Ways to Heal Cuts and Bruises Faster
We all get cuts and bruises occasionally.� And, if you have kids, you see cuts and bruises fairly often.� What can you do to make these cuts and bruise heal faster?� We have a few suggestions to offer.
Cleaning - The first thing you should do is clean the wound gently, but thoroughly.� Gently wash the injury with plain soap and water.� Rinse it well to remove any debris, dirt and injured tissue.�
Killing germs.� After cleaning the injured area, apply an over-the-counter antibiotic ointment, such a Bacitracin or Neosporin.� Apply the ointment twice a day to help prevent any infection.
Cover the wound.� Old-school thinking said that you should expose a cut to the air so it can breathe.� But, in fact, the dry, hard scabs that form over an injured site take longer to heal.� Instead, you should cover� the wound with a bandage to keep the cut moist.� This will allow a soft scab to form quickly.
Treating bruises.� You can cut the healing time for bruises in half if you rub it with topical vitamin-K ointment which can be found in drug and health food stores.�
Treating scabs.� Scabs should be treated with TLC.� A healthy, soft scab will protect delicate new skin cells.� You should avoid bumping or hitting the wiounded area and never remove a scab–let it fall off naturally.�
Speed healing.� Arnica is a homeopathic remedy that is sold in health food stores.� Studies have proven that arnica helps cuts, bruises and even surgical scars to heal faster.�
Take Vitamin C.� According to some recent studies, Vitamin C can help damaged blood vessels that cause bruising to heal faster.� The recommended dosage is 1,000 mg. to 3,000 mg. per day–divided up into two to three doses.� �
